FRESNO, Calif. - The Fresno State women's basketball team had three players named to various all-Western Athletic Conference teams, the WAC announced Monday. Jaleesa Ross, Rosie Moult and Taylor Thompson were all honored for their contributions to the Bulldogs' strong run through the WAC.
Ross, a senior guard, was named to the all-WAC first team for the third season in a row after ending the regular season as the conference's fourth leading scorer at 16.8 points per game. Ross was also third in the WAC in field goal percentage (47.4 percent) and 3-point percentage (36.8 percent) and fourth in assists per game (3.8). Moult, a 6-foot-1 forward, was named to the conference's second team after a stellar sophomore campaign in which she led Fresno State in 3-point shooting percentage (38.7) and averaged 11.4 points and 5.5 rebounds during WAC play.
After redshirting last season with an ankle injury, Thompson returned to the fold this season and was rewarded for her efforts with a spot on the all-Freshman team. Thompson led the WAC in steals per game (2.9) and was ninth in 3-pointers made per game (1.5). She also averaged 9.3 points during conference action.
