Two Dogs Named All-WAC

FRESNO, Calif. - Fresno State outshone all other Western Athletic Conference foes last night at the WAC awards banquet, especially freshman Marianne Jodoin. Jodoin earned not only WAC Freshman of the Year but also WAC Player of the Year and All-WAC singles. Fresno State's Laura Pola was honored with first team All-WAC and first team All-WAC doubles with partner Jodoin.
The WAC 2011 women's tennis award winners, as selected by the league's head coaches, were announced yesterday April 28, at the WAC Tennis Tournament banquet.
Jodoin, who is currently ranked No. 55 nationally, went 21-10 on the season and 15-6 in dual meets. She posted a perfect 5-0 mark vs. WAC opponents and is 4-5 on the season vs. ranked opponents. She was named WAC Player of the Week three times this season. Jodoin also teamed with Laura Pola at No. 1 doubles to post an 8-10 overall record. The pair went 4-0 against WAC opponents.
Pola was named first team All-WAC in singles and All-WAC in doubles for the first time in her career.
