Bulldogs Hit the Road Again

FRESNO, Calif. - The Fresno State women's basketball team wraps up the first half of the Western Athletic Conference season on the road against New Mexico State and Louisiana Tech.
The Bulldogs face the Aggies on Thursday, Feb. 2 at 5:30 p.m. PT and head to the Lady Techsters on Saturday, Feb. 4 at 5 p.m. PT.
Thursday night's match up with New Mexico State will be televised on ESPN3 online for fans to access through the internet.
Fresno State vs. New Mexico State
Fresno State lleads the overall series against the Aggies 13-6 and have won eight of the last 10 meetings. With Adrian Wiggins at the helm, the Bulldogs are 11-3 against NM State.
Scouting the Aggies
New Mexico State is currently in seventh place in the WAC standings with a 1-4 WAC record and 4-16 overall mark. Tabytha Wampler leads the team with 13.3 points and 9.1 rebounds per game. The Aggies are shooting 36 precent from the field and averaging 53.5 points per game.
Fresno State vs. Louisiana Tech
The Lady Techsters lead the overall series against Fresno State 9-17. Under head coach Adrian Wiggins, the Bulldogs are 9-9 against La Tech, including a last second win over the Lady Techsters in the 2011 WAC Tournament Championship game.
Scouting the Lady Techsters
Louisiana Tech is in a three-way tie for third place in the WAC standings with a 3-2 record and 10-10 overall. Shantale Bramble-Donaldson leads the team with 10.7 points and 7.3 rebounds per game. Jasmine Bendolph leads the WAC in assists with 111 on the year. La Tech is shooting 41 percent from the field and averaging 66.8 points per game.
And the Winner is...
Sophomore Ki-Ki Moore has been named the Verizon Western Athletic Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week for the week of Jan. 23. She averaged 23.5 points, 4.5 re¬bounds and 3.0 steals per game as Fresno State went 2-0 on the week and remained the only unbeaten team in WAC play. It is the third time this season she has earned the award.
The Votes Are In
For the second week in a row, Fresno State is receiving votes in the national polls. The Bulldogs earned four votes in this week's Associated Press Poll. The last time the `Dogs cracked the Top 25 was in Feb. 10, 1987 when they were ranked No. 21 with 92 points in the USA Today Top 25 Poll. The Bulldogs last received votes on March 8, 2010, where they were ranked 26th in the AP poll and earned 42 votes. In 2010, Fresno State received votes seven weeks in a row and during preseason.
Wiggins Dominates WAC Play
Since head coach Adrian Wiggins took over the Bulldog's program in 2005, he has dominated Western Athletic Conference play. The Bulldogs are 84-17 against WAC teams in the past six seasons for a winning percentage of 83.1 percent. The `Dogs best record was in 2010, when Fresno State went 16-0 during conference play for the first time in program history. Since 2010, Fresno State has only lost twice to a WAC opponent. Under Wiggins, the Bulldogs average 13.1 wins a year versus WAC teams and 2.8 losses per year against WAC opponents.
