FRESNO, Calif. - The Fresno State women's lacrosse team defeated the Central California Men's Lacrosse Club for the third straight year 20-12 Saturday afternoon in Bulldog Stadium. Head Coach Jessica Pausewang was very pleased with the win and the way the Bulldogs performed.
"I was really excited with the way we came out today and with the atmosphere and the community with the guy's team and us. I thought the girls went out well and played strong," Pausewang said.
The Bulldogs held the men's team in check leading to a 14-4 advantage going into the break, by having more shots on goal, and gaining more ground balls.
"We had some really nice transitions and were getting assists on half the goals," Pausewang said. "Our goalies stepped it up and had a really good game while our defense held the men's team to four goals in the first half."
Marcy Levatino led the 'Dogs with five goals, one assist, two ground balls, and a caused turnover. While, Sara Weber gained possession over the majority of draw controls. The team had control over the game from start to finish.
"It was really nice to see their effort and work they put in during the pre-season and the fall pay off today," Pausewang said.
