Fresno State Begins Long Homestand

FRESNO, Calif. - The Fresno State baseball team is home again after a tough road trip down south. The Bulldogs face UC Santa Barbara tonight at 6:05 p.m. on Beiden Field. This is the first time since 2005 the programs have met and the seventh time during head coach Mike Batesole's tenure.
The Bulldogs will host eight straight games over the next two weeks.

RIVAL HISTORY IN A NUTSHELL
UC Santa Barbara is a member of the Big West Conference. UCSB is led by head coach Andrew Checketts. He is in his first season. Fresno State is 48-32 all-time against the Gauchos and Batesole is 2-4 against UC Santa Barbara as a Bulldog. The two programs have not met since 2005.
BULLDOGS AGAINST THE BIG WEST CONFERENCE
Fresno State is 444-273 all-time against current Big West Conference members. The Bulldogs have been outscored 260-228 over the past five years and have a 19-21 record.
FRESNO STATE IN THE WAC
There are 15 offensive and 20 defensive categories where the Bulldogs rank top three in the Western Athletic Conference as a team. The Bulldogs are top in stolen bases (14), earned run average (3.09), batters struck out looking (28), runners picked off (2) and double plays fielded (10).
SECRET'S IN THE ARM
The Bulldog bullpen has the best ERA in the Western Athletic Conference at 3.09. The 'Dogs have recorded two shutouts in eight games this season and have three starters with an ERA under 1.00.
VALLEY PRIDE
Four Bulldog starters hail from Fresno County: Daniel Moultrie, Chris Mariscal, Jordan Luplow and Jordan Brink. Combined, they account for 34 hits, 12 runs, 11 RBI, seven doubles and a triple.
