Moore Earns WAC Top Honor

Denver, Colo. - A few days after claiming its fifth-straight Western Athletic Conference title, the Fresno State women's basketball team got more good news. Four Bulldogs brought home All-WAC honors and sophomore Ki-Ki Moore was selected as the Player of the Year.
Altogether, Four Bulldogs earned conference honors for their work on the court this season. The WAC coaches recognized Moore, along with, junior Rosie Moult, sophomore Taylor Thompson, who earned second-team honors, and freshman Madison Parrish, who was named to the All-Freshman team.
It has been a breakout season for Moore, a sophomore transfer from Washington State. The guard was named first-team All-WAC and also the Newcomer of the Year.
After sitting out a year to fulfill NCAA transfer regulations, Moore has become a driving force for the Bulldogs. Moore has started all 30 games so far this season and is averaging a team-high 16.5 points, 7.4 rebounds and 2.9 steals per game. She is shooting 46 percent from the field and 34 percent from 3-point range.
In WAC only games, Moore led the league in steals (3.6), ranked third in scoring (15.9), sixth in assists (3.1), seventh in assist-turnover ratio (1.0), eighth in rebounding (8.0) and 10th in field goal percentage (44.4).
Moore scored a career-high 28 points three times this season and grabbed a career-high 15 rebounds against Idaho. She has recorded six double-doubles this year and has been named WAC Player of the Week four times.
She becomes the third Fresno State player to earn WAC Player of the Year and the second Bulldog to be named WAC Newcomer of the Year.
For the third consecutive season, Moult earns all-WAC honors after being named second-team all-WAC for the 2011-12 season. The junior has started 28 of 30 games this season. She is averaging 12.9 points, 5.3 rebounds and 2.2 steals per game.
Moult leads the team and league with 82 3-pointers and is shooting 36 percent from beyond the arc, which is among the top 12th in the nation. Earlier this season, Moult broke the single-game record for three's made with nine. She also scored a career-high 27 points against Seattle. Moult was also named to the all-Defensive team.
Thompson has been named an all-WAC selection for the second year in a row after being named second-team all-WAC. She is averaging 8.5 points and 4.1 rebounds per game. Thompson has recorded a team-high 112 assists, while only turning the ball over 53 times.
The sophomore has started every game this season and is averaging 31.1 minutes per game. She has the best assist to turnover ratio in the conference and 11th best in the country. Thompson recorded 67 steals so far this season. Thompson was also named to the all-Defensive team.
In her first season with the Bulldogs, Parrish earned a nod by the coaches on the WAC All-Freshman team. The freshman is one of the first of the bench for the `Dogs. She is averaging 9.1 points and 2.4 rebounds per game.
Parrish has appeared in all 30 games and made two starts. She is averaging 24.5 minutes per game and is shooting 39 percent from the field. Parrish made 42 three's and a team-high 37 percent from beyond the arc.
The Bulldogs head to Las Vegas this week for the 2012 WAC Tournament at the Orleans Arena. The `Dogs face New Mexico State on Wednesday, March 7 at 6 p.m.
