Jodoin Earns 9th WAC Honor

DENVER, Colo. - Fresno State tennis student-athlete and sophomore Marianne Jodoin was named the Verizon Western Athletic Conference Player of the Week for April 10-13.
Jodoin went 2-0 in singles and 1-1 in doubles. The 47th-ranked singles player picked up two wins at the No. 1 spot for the weekend improving her record to 14-3 on the season.
Against Miami she earned the only Bulldog singles victory when she bested No. 18 Sophia Novak, 4-6, 6-3, 10-7, and against FIU she defeated Maisak, 6-0, 6-1. At No. 1 doubles, she and partner Laura Pola fell to No. 24-ranked duo of Zimmerman and Bolivar, 8-4 and then beat FIU's Maisak and McLean, 8-2.
The sophomore was also named Fresno State's Sysco Athlete of the Week, beating Michelle Moses from softball, Reid DeLaubenfels from men's tennis, baseball's Aaron Judge, lacrosse's Lauren Natale and track and field's AnaManu Folau and Derek Oliver.
This season the Bulldogs' have won WAC Athlete of the Week 12 out of the 14 weeks It marks Jodoin's seventh time being named WAC Athlete of the Week this season and ninth overall.
