COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Fresno State left-hander Tyler Linehan earned his first Mountain West Baseball Pitcher of the Week honors for games played from March 11-17, 2013.
Linehan gave the Fresno State baseball team a conference-opening complete game 1-0 shutout on Friday night.
Linehan entered Friday night's game as the Bulldogs most experienced pitcher, although he was without a start in the 2013 season.
The junior southpaw shined in his starting debut this year as he retired all 27 outs for the Bulldogs without allowing a run. The left-hander struck out seven while allowing eight hits and two walks in nine innings pitched.
In 2012, Linehan earned National Pitcher of the Week and also collected a conference pitcher of the week honor.
Fresno State plays the first of eight straight road games on Tuesday night when the Bulldogs travel play the Pacific Tigers in Stockton for a non-conference game. First pitch is scheduled for 6 p.m. PT and live statistics can be followed through Gametracker at www.GoBulldogs.com.
