Tennis Dominates at ASU Invite

TEMPE, Ariz. -The Fresno State women's tennis team went 4-for-5 on the first day of the ASU Thunderbird Invitational on Friday at the Whiteman Tennis Center in Tempe, Ariz.
The `Dogs started day one with the first round of doubles where Sophie Watts and Aishwarya Agrawal defeated BYU, 8-7(2).
"It's a great day to be a Bulldog," head coach Ryan Stotland said. "We adjusted well to everything in our matches and are excited for the challenges that lie ahead tomorrow"
Junior Sophie Watts advanced to quarterfinal round of singles play with victories over Northern Arizona University and Arizona State's Leighann Sahagun (6-1, 6-4). Agrawal competed in the first round of singles consolation and topped NAU's Marta Lawandowska (7-5, 7-5).
Following a round of doubles, Fresno State will compete in the quarterfinal round of singles on Saturday, Nov 8 at 9:30 a.m.
