Individual Notes
Kilton Anderson
Drew his first career start, becoming the fourth different Bulldog to start at quarterback this season. No other FBS team has started four different quarterbacks this season. Going all the way back through 1979 when game-by-game starters were available, Fresno State has never started more than two different quarterbacks in a season.
Anderson becomes the seventh Bulldog freshmen since 1983 to start, and is the second freshmen this season to start (Chason Virgil on Sept. 19 vs. Utah).
Threw his first career touchdown pass in the first quarter, a 21-yard TD strike to Jamire Jordan.
Da'Mari Scott
Returned the game's opening kickoff 45 yards. It was his second return of over 45 yards this season, shy of his 66-yard return at San Jose State, which was the longest for a Bulldog since Nov. 7, 2008 when A.J. Jefferson recorded a 92-yard return for a touchdown against Nevada.
His 42-yard reception in the third quarter is his longest catch of the year. It was also the longest pass play by the Bulldogs since week three against Utah when the `Dogs had an 82-yard touchdown pass.
Stratton Brown
Forced a fumble on punt coverage in the first quarter, which Fresno State recovered at the Utah State 35-yard line. It was his second forced fumble of the season, the other coming on defense at San Jose State on Sept. 26.
Brown has played a part in a turnover in three-straight weeks now. He forced a fumble on defense at San Jose State and recovered a fumble at San Diego State last weekend.
Jamire Jordan
Had five catches for 44 yards in the first half. That matched his season high for an entire game entering the evening (had five catches for 45 yards and a touchdown at San Jose State).
Marteze Waller
His one-yard rushing touchdown in the fourth quarter was the first of the season by a Bulldog running back. 2000 was the last season when it took this long into a year to score a rushing touchdown. That year, Fresno State scored its first rush TD in game four.
Team Notes
The Bulldogs have now lost five-straight games for the first time since the 2006 season.
Fresno State has started five different players at quarterback in its last seven games, going back to the 2014 Hawai`i Bowl.
With a forced fumble on a punt return, Fresno State has now forced and recovered three fumbles on special teams this year (two on punts, one on kickoff return).
The Bulldogs have now recovered a fumble in five-straight games, giving them seven fumble recoveries on the year. Fresno State entered the year ranked in a tie for fifth in the FBS in most fumble recoveries.
