Bulldogs Celebrate 2015 Season at Senior Banquet

FRESNO, Calif. - The Fresno State Quarterback Club in conjunction with the Bulldog Foundation put on the end-of-the-year awards banquet Sunday afternoon for the Bulldog football team at the Fresno Convention Center.
The banquet honored the 18 seniors and celebrated all the hard work the Bulldogs put in over the course of the last year.
"Football teaches great lessons and we talked about this all year long, lessons in perseverance, sticking together, believing in each other and fighting through adversity," head coach Tim DeRuyter said. "These lessons that our student-athletes learned this year I'm convinced will stay with them as they go on to lead great lives, become great fathers and husbands and members of their community because they are doing those things already.
"That is why the great game of football is still the greatest sport in American today. These guys will have great lives because of the lessons they have learned and will become great citizens and champions."
At the banquet senior running back Marteze Waller was named the team's offensive MVP, senior outside linebacker Ejiro Ederaine the defensive MVP and senior punter Garrett Swanson the MVP on special teams.
Fresno State recognized its student-athletes who hold a GPA of 3.0 or higher and gave its top academic honor – the academic achievement award – to senior right tackle Justin Northern.

Defensive Scout Team Player of the Year - Senior ILB Jaamal Rose
Special Teams Scout Team Player of the Year - Junior CB Daquawn Brown
Outstanding Lineman of the Year – Offense Senior LT Alex Fifita
Outstanding Lineman of the Year – Defense Senior DE Todd Hunt
