• With losses to San Jose State and UNLV, the 'Dogs have dropped two games in a row for the first time since late December of 2013.
Fresno State's 13-game winning streak was snapped on in Feb. 4 in a 56-51 loss at San Jose State. The streak was the second-longest streak in program history.
• It was the second time in four years that the 'Dogs had a lengthy unbeaten streak to begin the conference season end at The Event Center.
• The nine straight wins to start conference play was the 'Dogs best start in league play since the 2011-12 season when the team won 11 in a row during its last season in the Western Athletic Conference.
• Against UNLV, Fresno State lost its first game of the season when holding a half time lead (13-1). The 'Dogs led 31-27 at the break.
• The overtime game versus the Lady Rebels was the Bulldogs first overtime game since winning 78-72 at Boise State on Feb. 26, 2014.
• The 'Dogs remain the only team in the Mountain West to rank in the top in two scoring defense, field goal percentage defense, 3-point percentage defense, blocks and steals.
• Since Jan. 14, Fresno State has allowed only two opponents to score more than 60 points, while holding opponents to under 50 points in four of the eight games.
• Since posting 26 points at Wyoming on Jan. 17, junior guard Shauqunna Collins has recorded double figures in each game since. She leads the team in scoring during the past six games with an average of 15.3 points.
• Since the start of Mountain West season, Collins is averaging 11.6 points per game providing the 'Dogs with another double-digit scorer behind Alex Sheedy's 14.5.
• During conference play, Collins and senior guard Raven Fox have led an opportunistic defense which leads the Mountain West in steals at 13.5 per game. They rank one-two in conference with 2.8 and 2.5 per game, respectively.
Recent Results
• Fresno State lost its second straight game, falling to UNLV 73-70 in overtime at home. The loss snapped a 17-game win streak at the Save Mart Center.
• The Bulldogs dropped their first game of the conference season, falling to San Jose State on the road, 56-51, in a game that saw 47 combined turnovers, with 25 coming from Fresno State. The team did come up with 16 steals, but was unable to capitalize on them as SJSU held an 18-9 advantage in points off turnovers.
• In a rematch of the 2014 Reese's Mountain West Championship, Fresno State overcame its worst shooting game of the season (24.2%) to defeat Colorado State and take a two-game lead in the conference race. The 'Dogs used an 18-point advantage in points off turnovers and 11-point edge from points from the free throw line to get the 53-49 win.
• Five Bulldogs recorded double figures in a 57-50 win over San Diego State. Raven Fox paced the team with 14 points, as Toni Smith posted 13, and Alex Furr, Alex Sheedy and Shauqunna Collins each recorded 10.
• With only four players scoring, the Bulldogs left Nevada on Jan. 24 with a 62-44 win behind a combined 58 points from Alex Sheedy (22), Raven Fox (19) and Shauqunna Collins (17).
• Fresno State continued its winning streak in dramatic fashion at Wyoming on Jan. 17 as Shauqunna Collins willed the 'Dogs to a 56-55 win at Wyoming behind her 26 points. Collins scored 16 of her points in the second half, including the game's final basket, a layup with 4.9 seconds remaining on the clock.
• The Bulldogs knocked off San Jose State 58-46 on Jan. 14, stifling the Spartans' offense as they shot only 25 percent from the field. The 'Dogs were led by double-doubles from Alex Sheedy (15 points and 12 rebounds) and Bego Faz Davalos (11 points and 12 rebounds). It was the first time that two Fresno State players have recorded double-doubles in the same game since Nov. 30, 2013.
• Fresno State became the last unbeaten team in conference play, moving its record to 4-0 with a 65-43 win over Nevada on Jan. 10 as assistant coach Mandi Carver assumed head coaching duties due to the absence of head coach Jaime White who was away after a death in the family. Sheedy led the team in scoring with 17 points, while redshirt freshman center Bego Faz Davalos filled up the stat sheet with 14 points, six blocks, five rebounds, four steals and three assists.
Series History with Boise State
• Fresno State leads the all-time series 22-9.
• The Bulldogs have won 11 straight dating back to Jan. 5, 2009.
• The 'Dogs left Boise with a 78-72 win in overtime in last season's matchup with the Broncos.
A Look at Boise State
• Boise State sits fourth in the conference standings with a 15-7 overall record and is 7-4 in the MW.
• The Broncos are one the top offensive teams in the conference, ranking second in scoring offense (73.7) and are first in scoring margin (+12.0). They also lead the Mountain West in field goal percentage (.427), 3-point percentage, (.377) and assists (17.0) .
• BSU is the top 3-point shooting team in the MW, averaging 8.8 made 3s per game.
• Deanna Weaver leads the team in scoring at 14.1 points per game, and is one of the top 3-point shooters in the country at 45.6 percent.
Balancing Act
• While Fresno State has at times had a balanced offensive attack, against San Diego State (Jan. 28), the Bulldogs had five players score in double figures for the first time this season.
• Led by Alex Sheedy's 352 points, six Bulldogs have scored more than 100 points this season. Sheedy has been a consistent scorer for the 'Dogs, posting double figures in 19 games, but it has been a mystery to opponents for much of the season as to which other players will step up.
• Only two other teams in the Mountain West, Boise State and Colorado State, also have six or more players who have eclipsed the 100-point mark.
Only Takes Three
• In an odd looking box score, only four Bulldogs scored in their 62-44 win at Nevada (Jan. 24), but three of those 'Dogs outscored the Wolf Pack by themselves. Alex Sheedy (22), Raven Fox (19) and Shauqunna Collins (17) combined to score 58 points, 14 more than the entire Nevada team which saw all nine of its players score. Only one, 6-foot-8 center Mimi Mungedi reached double figures with 12 points.
White Out
• Since taking over at Fresno State, first-year head coach Jaime White has erased any notions of a rebuilding year for the Bulldogs. With a 17-5 record, she is already enjoying one of the best season's in school history and is on pace to record the best winning percentage in program history.
• Aside from 2011-12, no other Bulldog team has finished with a winning percentage over .800 and only three other seasons have seen a winning percentage over .750.
• Only three coaches in Fresno State's history have finished their first full season with a winning percentage above .700, with Adrian Wiggins having the highest at .750 in 2005-06.
Making History
• With the Bulldogs' win versus Colorado State, this year's team set the school record for the best 20-game start to season at 17-3.
• The 1984-85 team had opened its season 16-3 before suffering its fourth loss in its 20th game.
