Mississippi won the toss, elected to receive the opening kickoff.
2nd Quarter
Shannon Edwards intercepted his first career pass and returned it 56 yards for a touchdown at 6:43.
The 56-yard pick-6 gave the Bulldogs an interception return for a touchdown for the fourth consecutive year and was the 10th under head coach Tim DeRuyter.
Chason Virgil hit Josiah Blandin on a nine-yard touchdown pass right at the end of the second quarter. It was Blandin's second TD catch of the season.
Blandin joins Bear Pascoe (2007), Josh Harper (2011) and Davante Adams (2013) as the only Bulldogs since 2002 to catch touchdown passes in each of the first two games of the season.
Da'Mari Scott had five catches for 57 yards in the first half. His previous career-high for catches in a game was two, accomplished three times in his first two years in the program.
3rd Quarter
Marteze Waller's 26th carry of the game right before the 3:00 mark gave him a new career-high for carries in a game.
On the next play after his 26th carry, Waller caught a 35-yard pass from Chason Virgil. It was the longest reception of his career.
Waller caught his first career touchdown pass at 1:00, a score from seven yards out.
