After a 10-10 draw, the Horned Frogs won by an overall score of 1423.5-1369.5

FRESNO, Calif. – The No. 5 Fresno State equestrian team fell to No. 7 TCU on Friday by an overall raw score of 1423.5-1369.5 at the Fresno State Student Horse Center.

The Bulldogs and Horned Frogs battled to a 10-10 draw, with Fresno State owning advantages in Equitation on the Flat (3-2), Equitation Over Fences (4-1) and Horsemanship (3-2), but falling 5-0 in Reining.

After beginning the competition down 5-0 in Reining, the 'Dogs pulled back within reach with Equitation Over Fences wins from Kylina Chalack (86-38), Alexandra Dirickson (79-78), Maddy Keck (82-60) and Paige Pastorino (85-76).

Fresno State continued to close the gap with three points in Equitation on the Flat coming from Chalack (86-77), Sierra Swaffar (81-76) and Natalie Wendt (83-74).

Heading into Horsemanship, the Bulldogs were down 8-7 and needed at least three points to bring the score to a draw, doing so with wins from Taylor Brown (73.5-72), Taylor Dixon (74-72.5) and Madison Robinson (74-71).

The meet would need to go to the overall raw score to find a winner, with TCU edging Fresno State by 54 points.

Three Bulldogs received Most Outstanding Player honors in the competition: Kylina Chalack (Equitation on the Flat), Paige Pastorino (Equitation Over Fences) and Madison Robinson (Horsemanship).
