FRESNO, Calif. – The No. 9 Fresno State equestrian team plays host to No. 6 South Carolina on Friday at the Fresno State Student Horse Center. The competition will be the Bulldogs' fifth top 10 matchup of the season. The meet was originally scheduled for 10 a.m. PT, but has been moved to 1 p.m.

The 'Dogs (4-2) are 1-8 all-time against the Gamecocks (3-1) and 1-3 at home. The last time the two teams met, South Carolina came out ahead with a 12-4 victory on April 17, 2015 in Waco, Texas in the quarterfinal round of the National Collegiate Equestrian Association (NCEA) National Championships.

This season, South Carolina has defeated Baylor, Georgia and New Mexico State, while falling to Texas A&M. This will be the Gamecocks' first road competition of the year.

Following Fresno State's narrow loss to No. 7 TCU on Oct. 21, the Bulldogs dropped four spots in the NCEA national team rankings in the Oct. 26 poll.
