Vazquez selected to Academic All-District team

Jacob Vazquez's selection is the second of his career after earning the honor in 2015.
FRESNO, Calif. – Fresno State offensive lineman Jacob Vazquez was named Thursday to the 2016 Academic All-District 8 team as announced by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
Vazquez now advances to the CoSIDA Academic All-America® Team ballot, where first-, second-and third-team All-America honorees will be selected.
His inclusion marks the seventh time that a Fresno State football student-athlete has been named to the Academic All-District team during the last five seasons. He was one of two Bulldogs to earn the honor in 2015.
Vazquez is a 2016 William V. Campbell Trophy semifinalist and a nominee for the Allstate American Football Coaches Association Good Works Team and Wuerffel Trophy. A two-time Fall All-Academic Mountain West selection, he is one of seven Fresno State student-athletes to receive the 1A FARÂ Â Excellence Award.
Vazquez has started 13 of his 18 career games on the Bulldogs' offensive line.
