Orlondo Steinauer named Bulldogs’ defensive coordinator

Fresno State goes north of the border for its most recent hire
Prior to his fourth season with the team, Steinauer was promoted by the Tiger-Cats on May 27, 2016 to assistant head coach (and D.C.) after three seasons on staff as the team's defensive coordinator.
The Seattle native, spent the previous three seasons (2010-12) as the defensive backs coach with the Toronto Argonauts – in his final season, the Argonauts won the 2012 Grey Cup. He also served as the club's interim defensive coordinator for 12 weeks in 2011.
Following a 10-interception All-American senior season at Western Washington in 1995, Steinauer continued his playing career for 13 seasons in the CFL.
Steinauer started his career with the Ottawa Rough Riders in 1996, would spend the next four years with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats and the following eight seasons with the Toronto Argonauts. He won two Grey Cups and was named an all-star at three different positions (cornerback, halfback and safety), earning six East All-Star nods and five CFL All-Star honors in total. His 1,178 interception return yards are the second most in CFL history.
