FRESNO, Calif. - The No. 38 Fresno State women's tennis team completed a doubleheader sweep on Saturday at Spalding G. Wathen Tennis Center with 7-0 victories over UC Irvine and Fresno City College.
The Bulldogs were led by Anneka Watts and Sophie Watts as the twins finished the day with four wins apiece. Playing one doubles match together, and the other with different teammates, neither allowed a point to be scored on them in doubles play. Galina Bykova earned three wins, two in singles and one in doubles, and she picked up the match-clinching point against UC Irvine. Four other Bulldogs captured two victories each on the day.
Fresno State will go back on the road next weekend as the team travels to Utah to face the Utes on March 31 before facing BYU the following day. The Bulldogs will return the following weekend to host UNLV on April 8. The 'Dogs will then host senior day against San Diego State on April 10.
