FRESNO, Calif. - The United Equestrian Conference (UEC) announced the final 2015-16 season and tournament awards on Saturday afternoon.
Three members of the Fresno State equestrian team were named Rider of the Year including Sierra Swaffar (Equitation on the Flat), fellow sophomore Taylor Dixon (Horsemanship) and junior Taylor Brown (Reining). Rookie rider Taeya Harle additionally earned Freshman of the Year in Horsemanship and the squad garnered five combined all-conference accolades.
"It is an honor to capture three of the four Rider of the Year awards," head coach Eric Hubbard said. "It speaks to how hard all of those student-athletes have worked throughout the year and how much they add to our team. We are looking for big things to come in the future from Tanya [Harle] as she was named the Horsemanship Freshman of the Year. Also, having so many Bulldogs represented on the All-Conference team is impressive and I am proud of all of them."
