Three 'Dogs advance on opening day of ITA Northwest Regionals

Fresno State collected seven wins on day one of regionals.
STANFORD, Calif. – Alessia Dario, Katerina Stloukalova and Emma Wilson each reached the Round of 32 in the singles main draw at the ITA Northwest Regionals on Thursday at Taube Family Tennis Stadium. Dario and Wilson advanced to Friday with a pair of wins while Stloukalova needed just one win after earning a first-round bye.

Being seeded players in the tournament, neither Stloukalova nor Wilson will need to face a seeded opponent in the Round of 32, but Dario will square-off with ninth-seeded Sophia Whittle of Gonzaga. Round of 32 matches begin tomorrow at 10:30 a.m. The Round of 16 will begin at 1:30 p.m.

Two of the Bulldogs' three doubles teams will also be in action on Friday morning as Katerina Stloukalova and Abbey Watanabe won their first-round match 8-1 over Cal Poly's Susanne Boyden and Seriana Saltzen. Fifth-seeded Georgia Lawson and Emma Wilson earned a bye into the Round of 16. Matches begin on 9 a.m.
