Paige Barton earns NCEA Shorty's Reining Rider of the Month honors

Fresno State sophomore equestrian rider Paige Barton earns her first career NCEA monthly award.
WACO, Texas – Sophomore Paige Barton of the No. 9 Fresno State equestrian team has been named the National Collegiate Equestrian Association (NCEA) Reining Rider of the Month for September, as announced on Tuesday afternoon.

This is Barton's first career NCEA monthly award as the Oakdale, Calif., native. went a perfect 3-0 in reining in the 'Dogs three meets in September.
Competing against the top two ranked teams in the NCEA, No. 1 Texas A&M and No. 2 Georgia, as well as South Dakota State, Barton earned Most Outstanding Player accolades in reining against both the Aggies and Jackrabbits scoring 70.5 and 72.5, respectively in those two meets.
She added a 70.5 ride against the Bulldogs of Georgia winning her three rides of the month by an average of 3.33 points.

The Bulldogs are back in action on Oct. 21 at South Dakota State (0-2) at 7 a.m. PT in Brookings, S.D.
