Saturday is Salute to Services night

FRESNO, Calif. – It will be a very special Saturday night at Bulldog Stadium as the Fresno State football team will hold its annual Salute to Services game. Kickoff is set for 7:45 p.m. PT vs. BYU. Tailgating opens at 3:45 p.m.

Active military and veterans can secure FREE tickets to the BYU game by logging into VetTix.com. In honor of the Salute to Services game, Fresno State increased the number of FREE tickets available to active and veteran military personnel. However, there is still a limited number of FREE tickets available and only can be obtained online through Vet Tix.

Vet Tix also provides active military and veteran's access to discounted tickets. Discounted tickets can also be purchased by visiting the Bulldog Ticket Office Monday - Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. or on game day at the stadium box office.

Below is a list of what will surround Saturday's Salute to Services game:

• 95' x 130' American Flag on the field pregame and at halftime. A group of 150 U.S. Army and Fresno State ROTC service members will carry it.

• Weather permitting, a pregame fly by with Blackhawk helicopters.

• A large contingent of veteran groups expected to be in attendance in part to Athletics providing 1,000 tickets to various service people.

• Valley Children's Hospital Kids coin toss will have Vets escort the selected young person to the center of the field.

• The Bulldog football team will honor the night with a special "Vet" helmet stickers.

• Fresno State sideline staff and coaches will be wearing special camo hats in celebration of the evening.

• The sponsored Hero of the Game will include all Vets in attendance.

• A special tribute video honoring the Vets to be played during the game.

• The Fresno State choir will perform with the Marching band for a Military themed performance.
