The next pass
The next pass
While the first shot after receiving a pass may look good, it may not be the best shot. Fresno State continued to look for the open teammate in its season opener as the team dished out 25 assists. It was the most for a Bulldog team since March 9, 2013 at UNLV.
• Four 'Dogs had at least three assists, including freshman Bree Delaney who led the team with five.
Starting big
Starting big
It had been 28 years the Bulldogs had last defeated a team by at least 25 points in a season-opener. With last week's 25-point win over Eastern Washington, that total tied for the fourth-largest margin of victory in a season opener in Fresno State history. On Nov. 24, 1989, the Bulldogs defeated Bucknell by that margin (90-65).Â
• The top three margin of victories for the 'Dogs in season openers are 79 (Cal State Hayward, 1982), 50 (San Jose State, 1974; ) and 42 (Cal Poly Pomona, 1978).
