Bulldogs land Standifer for 2018

Texas forward with championship pedigree will join Fresno State for the 2018-19 season.
FRENSO, Calif. – Fresno State head women's basketball coach Jaime White announced the addition of Gabby Standifer to the Bulldogs' 2018 recruiting class.

The 5-foot-10 forward from Argyle, Texas helped lead the Lady Eagles to three consecutive Texas UIL 4A state championships. Behind an 18-point, nine-rebound performance in the 2016 championship game, Standifer, then a sophomore, was named tournament MVP. She was selected to both the 2016 and 2017 all-tournament teams.

"As a three-time Texas state champion, Gabby may be one of the most competitive players that I have ever recruited," White said. "Gabby has a high basketball IQ allowing her to play the 1 through 4 positions and she shoots the ball from deep very well. She encompasses our core values and will be a perfect fit within our culture. We can't wait for her to put on a Bulldog uniform next year."

The two-time all-state selection (TGCA – 2016; TABC – 2017) is a three-star player according to ESPN which gave her a scout grade of 89. She is listed as the No. 42-ranked wing in the class of 2018.

In 2017, Standifer set the Argyle single-season record for made 3-point field goals with 95 as her team finished the season 37-2.

A standout on the court, Standifer also holds a 4.0 GPA and plans to major in education.
