Transfer to be eligible though 2018-19.
FRESNO, Calif. – Fresno State women's head coach basketball Jaime White announced the addition of graduate transfer Tia Elbert on Wednesday. The former Indiana guard will be eligible for competition during the spring semester through the 2018-19 season.
Â
"Tia will bring a high level of experience and maturity to our team," White said. "She has great court vision with speed and scoring accuracy. Tia excels in the classroom and that is in line with our culture of high character and hard work. We are very excited for her to join the Bulldog family."
Â
Elbert played in a reserve role in her one season at Indiana, averaging 1.5 points in 6.7 minutes per game. The 5-foot-7 guard sat out the 2015-16 season after transferring from Marquette following her freshman season.
Â
In one season with the Golden Eagles, Elbert started 22 games while playing in all 30. She was third on the team in scoring with 8.8 points per game in 26.7 minutes. She led Marquette with 3.1 assists and the 1.1 steals per contest.
Â
Prior to her collegiate career, Elbert left Tartan High School ranked seventh in career points in Minnesota girls' high school basketball history with 3,501. A two-time First Team All-State selection, she averaged 36.4 points per game as a senior in 2013-14.
Â
Elbert will enter the MBA program at Fresno State.
