GoBulldogs.com caught up with the senior before her last home competition this Friday
Fogelberg: I chose Fresno State because it felt right. When I came on my recruit trip, I got such great vibes from the girls on the team and the coaching staff. I also loved the campus and the area around the school.
Q: Who has had the most influence on your athletic career and why?
Fogelberg: I would say I have the most influence on myself. I push myself to do my best always, and hold myself accountable if I'm not riding as well as I can.Â
Q: What pre-meet superstitions or rituals do you have, if any?Fogelberg: I never wear matching socks on show day. Also, right before I enter the flat court, I always stick my nose in the air and sit up really straight, it makes me feel confident.
Q: What was your most memorable moment as a Bulldog?Fogelberg: My most memorable moment was when we traveled to South Dakota State during my first year. I drew a really fun horse and had never felt more confident. I laid down one of the best patterns I had ever ridden and won my point for the team.
Q: What is one thing most people don't know about you?Fogelberg: I produce the content for our team's social media sites. I have so much fun with it!
Q: How would your teammates describe you?Fogelberg: I would hope that they say I'm a good teammate! I try to help my teammates feel confident before going into the ring. I think they would also say I'm funny, because I tend to crack a lot of jokes when we're all together.
Q: Who is your favorite athlete and why?Fogelberg: My favorite athlete is Richard Sherman of the Seattle Seahawks. He says controversial things sometimes, but I like how he keeps it real, and also puts everything he's got into perfecting his craft. I try to be like that, and get better every time I get on a horse.
Q: If you had a ride out song, what would it be and why?Fogelberg: My ride-out song would be Double Bubble Trouble by MIA. That song gives me so much confidence and gets me pumped up before I compete.
Q: If you were stranded on a deserted island, what three things would you want?Fogelberg: Chapstick, I seriously can't live without it. Also, my iPad. Even if I didn't have service I would keep myself entertained by editing photos and such. Lastly, my retainer. I actually can't fall asleep if I don't put it in before bed.
Q: What are your plans after graduation?Fogelberg: As of right now I am going back and forth between finding a full time job or going to grad school. Either way, I am set on staying in California. I don't want to go back to rainy Seattle.
