GoBulldogs.com caught up with the senior before her last home competition this Friday
Robinson: Location, major and friends.I grew up in the area and used to come to shows when I was younger. I always enjoyed watching the girls and being at the barn. Fresno State also had my major of choice, which was a huge factor for me. When I came on a recruitment trip, I loved the girls on the team and that they were like a big family.
Q: Who has had the most influence on your athletic career and why?Robinson: There are a lot of people who have influenced me and my collegiate riding career. My parents, DeeAnn and Jerry Robinson and trainer Rachele Scobie have provided a great amount of support and love.
Â
Alumnae Brigid O'Leary has made a huge impact on my Fresno State career. She showed me what it's like to ride what you get, smile, love life, ride every step, and be appreciative to be in the show pen because when it's over, it's over.
Robinson: I HAVE to wear my lucky socks on show days. I also have a red bow that I wear that was given to me by alumnae Brigid O'Leary. It is a bow that is passed down every 2 years. It is very special to me so I wear it every meet.
Q: What was your most memorable moment as a Bulldog?Robinson: My most memorable moment was last semester when I did not want to draw Rudy in the Horsemanship, because I seem to always draw him. And I ended up drawing him again that day, and scored a 76.5 on him.
Q: What is one thing most people don't know about you?Robinson: Some things that make me really happy are throwback music, Dip n Dots, and Doughnuts.
Q: How would your teammates describe you?Robinson: I think my teammates would describe me as their best listener, or the caretaker. I'll be there for anyone, anytime. I think they'd also say I'm pretty silly, and I love to have fun with the girls. Also, that I am a big softie, I like mushy movies and songs.
Q: Who is your favorite athlete and why?Robinson: I would have to say my horse Donald is my favorite athlete. He is pretty strong, athletic, and coordinated…and he's just adorable!
Q: If you had a ride-out song, what would it be and why?Robinson: Probably "White & Nerdy" by Weird Al. Because the music sounds serious, but really the lyrics are just hilarious. So it's kind of like me, most people think I'm serious, but I am really just a goof and like to make people smile.
Q: If you were stranded on a deserted island, what three things would you want?Robinson: I definitely would want some kind of flotation device that Sharks could not bite into – (because Sharks are my #1 fear), warm clothes or blanket, I really don't like being cold, and some food. I definitely need some food.
Q: What are your plans after graduation?
Robinson: After graduation, I am getting married in June. I plan on staying in the area and getting a job in the medical field and working until I get accepted into a PA Masters Program.
