Notes:
• Fresno State will host its annual home tournament for the 13th year this week; the 'Dogs have won the event three straight times and have five crowns total.
• Senior Gudrun Bjorgvinsdottir took second place last season at the Fresno State Classic (68-71=139), bested by Santa Clara's Annie Freeman (67-69=136) by three shots; both will vie for the individual title again as Santa Clara is in the 2017 tournament field. Freeman set the all-time Fresno State Classic 36-hole low score with an 8-under-par 136 a season ago.
• Kristin Simonsen earned a fifth-place finish (71-74=145) at last year's Fresno State Classic while Mimi Ho tied for 12th (75-73=148).
• Bjorgvinsdottir owns a streak of nine-straight events placing in the top 20 dating back to last season.
• Playing as individuals, freshmen Danielle Richman and Hayden Mammen, and sophomore newcomer Kelsi Stieler will tee it up as Bulldogs for the first time in their careers this week.
• Of the 12 participating schools, Fresno State will be the top school entering this week's event at No. 77 … Cal Poly, Nevada and Santa Clara also hold top 100 rankings while eight others above that mark will be chasing the 'Dogs.
• Weather at the Fresno State Classic on Monday (High 78F, Low 51F) is forecasted to have a 10 percent chance of rain and 5-10 mph winds; Tuesday (High 83F, Low 53F) is forecasted to have a zero percent chance of rain and light and variable winds.
