Wilson named MW Women's Tennis Player of the Week

Sophomore posted a combined 7-1 record during the last week.
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Fresno State sophomore Emma Wilson has been named Mountain West Women's Tennis Player of the Week for matches played through Tuesday, March 14, the conference announced Wednesday afternoon. It is the first career MW weekly accolade for Wilson.
The sophomore from Cramlington, England helped lead the Bulldogs to a 4-0 week with victories over Middle Tennessee, BYU, Cal Poly and UT Arlington. Wilson went 4-0 competing at the No. 2 singles position, defeating Constanza Magazzini from Middle Tennessee (2-6, 7-5, 6-4), Natella Nabieva from BYU (7-6, 6-2), Seriana Saltzen from Cal Poly (7-6 (5), 7-5) and UT Arlington's Astrid Gehre (4-6, 6-3, 7-5). Playing on the Bulldogs' No. 1 doubles squad, went 3-1 with the lone loss coming vs. MTSU's Sarah Sediri/Luisa Zirilli (6-4). Knocked off BYU's and UTA's top teams, 6-2, and beat Cal Poly's Seriana Saltzena/Molly Reed, 6-3.
Wilson scored the clinching team point against Middle Tennessee and UT Arlington and all three of her doubles victories secured the doubles point for Fresno State.
