'Dogs fall to undefeated Buffs

BOULDER, Colo. – The Fresno State women's lacrosse game fell to No. 4 Colorado Saturday afternoon 19-6.
The Bulldogs fall to 7-3 on the season (0-2 MPSF).
The Buffs remain undefeated this season at 10-0.
Freshman Tiffiny Wallace led Fresno State with three goals. Marina Mayo, Nicole Ortlieb, and Sarah Bloise each added a goal to round out scoring for the Bulldogs.
Buffs offense was unstoppable in the first half
Colorado went on a 4-0 run to start the first half.
Sarah Bloise opened scoring for the Bulldogs with 22:58 left in the first half to put Fresno State on the board 4-1.
Nicole Ortlieb's goal with 8:39 left in the first half ended Colorado's 7-0 run, making it 11-2.
Tifiiny Wallace followed up with a quick goal for the 'Dogs with 3:49 left in the first half to make it 12-3.
The Buffs scored one more goal before time expired to make it 13-3 at halftime.
'Dogs upped their defensive intensity in the second half
The Bulldogs opened up scoring in the second half when Marina Mayo scored on a free position shot.
Fresno State held Colorado's offense to six goals in the second half.
Tiffiny Wallace scored back-to-back goals for the Bulldogs to end the game.
In the cage
Laurel Maunder started in the cage for the Bulldogs recording four saves in 11 minutes.
Natalie Chaffin subbed in for Fresno State with 19:33 left in the first half and played out the remainder of the game. Chaffin logged a season-high 12 saves to help the 'Dogs hold Colorado to six goals in the second half.
Sarah Bloise led Fresno State in draw controls with five.
