'Dogs fall to No. 9 Trojans 21-5

LOS ANGELES – The Fresno State women's lacrosse team fell to No. 9 USC 21-5 Friday evening.
The Bulldogs fall to 7-4 (0-3) on the season.
USC continues its 21-0 streak at home.
Freshman Kayla Galet led the Bulldogs with two goals. Sarah Bloise, Marina Mayo and Tiffiny Wallace each recorded one goal to round out scoring.
Trojans hit the ground running in the first half
Sarah Bloise opened up scoring with 29:25 left in the first half to give the Bulldogs their only lead of the contest 1-0.
USC responded with an 11-0 run, ended by Tiffiny Wallace's goal with 10:17 left in the first half. The Trojans were up 12-2.
USC would score two more goals before the end of the period, making it 14-2 at halftime.
Fresno State fought back in the second half
The Trojans opened up scoring in the second half.
The Bulldogs struck back when Marina Mayo found the back of the net with 27:23 left in the first half.
The teams would trade goals, to make it 16-4, as Kayla Galet scored with 19:36 left in the game.
USC went on a 5-0 run before Kayla Galet found the back of the net for the second time with 3:39 left in the game, to make the final score 21-5.
Laurel Maunder started in the cage for the Bulldogs. She was in the game for 10 minutes and recorded four saves before Natalie Chaffin relieved her.
Chaffin played the remainder of the contest recording six saves for Fresno State.
USC held Fresno State to nine shots, nine ground balls and a .500 clear percentage.
As a team, the Bulldogs led in saves 10-4 and limited the Trojans to only four draw controls in the second half.
Senior Kyliegh Westgarth led Fresno State with six draw controls on the night.
