The Fresno State equestrian team begins competition on Saturday at 8 a.m. PT

FRESNO, Calif. – The No. 6-ranked Fresno State equestrian team heads to Stillwater, Okla., on Saturday to take on No. 2 Oklahoma State at Totusek Arena at 8 a.m. PT to cap off its regular season.

The Bulldogs (7-5) are 1-5 all-time against the Cowboys (7-2), but have defeated No. 1-ranked teams twice this season. Oklahoma State's losses have come to Baylor and SMU, two teams that Fresno State has split series with this season.

The 'Dogs' lone win against the Cowboys was a 10-9 victory on Oct. 25, 2008, in the teams' only competition to take place in Fresno.

Fresno State's strength all season has been horsemanship, with senior Taylor Brown and junior Rachel Williams each with nine victories in the event, junior Taylor Dixon adding seven.

Brown also leads the team in reining, garnering nine points in that event as well, and has accumulated 12 Most Outstanding Player accolades, six in each event.

When it comes to hunt seat riders, junior Kylina Chalack has paced the Bulldogs with 13 points this season, while sophomore Alexandra Dirickson has scored nine and freshman Natalie Wendt, eight.

Following the Bulldogs' regular-season finale, they will ride in the United Equestrian Conference Championships in Delaware March 24-25. The National Collegiate Equestrian Association Championships are scheduled for April 13-15 in Waco, Texas.
