'Dogs fall to Aggies 16-7

FRESNO, Calif. – The Fresno State women's lacrosse team fell to MPSF foe UC Davis 16-7 Saturday night.
The Bulldogs fall to 8-5 on the season and 1-3 in MPSF Conference Play.
Freshman Tiffiny Wallace led Fresno State with three goals. Caroline Dineen-Carlson recorded two goals, while Sarah Bloise and Jordyn Pandolfo each recorded one goal to round out scoring for the Bulldogs.
'Dogs battle back in the first half
Tiffiny Wallace opened up scoring for the Bulldogs when she found the back of the net with 28:19 left in the first half.
UC Davis went on a 4-0 run to take a 4-1 lead with 24:27 left in the half.
Fresno State responded with a 4-0 run of its own. The Bulldogs took a 5-4 lead when Caroline Dineen-Carlson scored her second goal of the night on a free position shot.
The Aggies scored back-to-back goals to end the half with a 6-5 lead over the Bulldogs.
UC Davis starts the second half strong
The Aggies opened up the second half with an 8-0 run, holding the Bulldogs scoreless for the first 18 minutes of the second half.
After the run by UC Davis, the Aggies were up 14-5 with 12:57 left in the game.
Sarah Bloise ended UC Davis' run when she scored with 11:37 left in the game.
The Aggies scored back-to-back goals with 6:05 left in the game, to take a 16-6 lead.
Fresno State scored once more when Jordyn Pandolfo found the back of the net with 3:21 left in the game, giving the Bulldogs their seventh goal of the night.
In the cage
Natalie Chaffin was in the cage for the Bulldogs for all 60 minutes of the game.
Chaffin recorded 14 saves, three ground balls and one caused turnover.
UC Davis held Fresno State to just 14 shots on the night. The Aggies biggest advantage was in draw controls, they recorded 17 draw controls compared to eight grabbed by the Bulldogs.
