Bulldogs finalize 2017-18 signing class

Fresno State adds nine women and four men to its roster for 2017-18 season.
FRESNO, Calif. – Fresno State head track & field coach Scott Winsor announced his men's and women's signing classes for the 2017-18 season. The total class of 12 includes eight women and four men. Four of the women hail from outside of the United States while three from that group have chosen to transfer into the program.

Tijana Antic
Serbia / McNeese State
Sprints / Jumps
Antic spent the one season at McNeese State where she competed in the triple jump and 100-meter hurdles. She finished second in the triple jump at the Southland Conference Outdoor Championships, an event which she owns a personal best of 40'-7.5"/12.38m. She has also run a PR of 14.15 in the 100-meter hurdles.

Cecily Edwards
Plano, Texas / Plano West HS
Sprints
Edwards is a District 5-6 Area Meet 6A champion in the 100 meters, and was also a UIL 6A state finalist in the event. She has run personal bests of 11.74 in the 100m and 24.43 in the 200m.

Vavara Kyluchnikova
Kazan, Russia / Vincennes University
Jumps
The junior college transfer from Russia, who owns a 5'-10.27"/1.80m, has placed in the top three in the high jump in all four of the NJCAA Championships during her two years at Vincennes. She won the 2016 outdoor championship and took third at the meet this spring. She placed second at the indoor championships in both of her appearances.

Ellie Leather
Bristol, England
Distance
A four-time Avon County champion in the 1500 meters, Leather is also a three-time Gwent cross country league champion. She has finished 28th (2015) and 31st (2016) at the ECCA Saucony English National Championships. She placed 19th at the 2016 English Schools' XC Championships and was 26th at the 2016 Inter County Championships (Inc British Athletics Cross Challenge & World Trials). In 2015, Leather placed seventh in the 1500m finals of the English schools track and field championships. She holds personal bests of 2:15.31 in the 800m and 4:39.41 in the 1500m.

Morgan Lewis
Atlanta, Georgia / Mount Vernon Presbyterian School
Sprints
Specializing in the hurdles, Lewis was a GHSA state champion in both the 100 and 300-meter hurdles, She also won the 100-meter hurdles at Flo Golden South Classic and qualified for the Brooks PR Invitational in the event. Lewis has run personal bests of 13.83 in the 100m hurdles, 44.36 300m hurdles and 8.69 in the 60m hurdles.

Noelina Madarieta
Mar Del Plata, Argentina
Pole Vault
One of the top young pole vaulters in Argentina, Madarieta placed second at the South American Junior Championships and has qualified for the IAAF World Junior Championships. In 2013 she finished fifth at the IAAF World Youth Championships and took third at the Pan American Junior Championships. She holds a personal record of the 13'-11.25/4.25m in the event.

Lydia Scott
Medford, Oregon / South Medford HS
Distance
A two-time cross country state finalist in California for Selma High School before moving to Oregon for her senior season, Scott placed 20th at the Oregon state meet 2016. She holds a 5K personal best of 18:50 in cross country with track PRs of 2:27 in the 80m, 4:53 in the 1500mand 10:28 in the 3000m.

Samantha Shields
Aberdeen, South Dakota/Aberdeen Central/Northern State                                        Â
Distance
A two-time state qualifier on the track and three-time qualifier in cross country in high school, earning all-conference and all-state honors during the 2015 season, Shields competed at Northern State during her freshman season (2016-17). She holds personal bests of 2:25.89 in the 800m, 3:07.80 in the 1K, 5:02.59 in 1500m and 5:25.13 in the indoor mile.

Founds finished the 2016 cross country CCS finals with personal best time of 15:59 in the 5K and finished the state meet in 16:15. On the track, he holds personal records of 4:29.1 in the 1600 meters and 9:42.2 in the 3200 meters.

Jumps
Hicks has competed in both the long and triple jumps for Highland, holding personal bests of 22'-9" in the long jump and 43'-1.5" in the triple jump.

Sprints
Competing in the longer sprints at Benicia, Larks holds personal records of 22.84 in the 200m and 49.69 in the 400m.

Alekos Mitchell
Huntington Beach, California/Huntington Beach HS
Distance
Mitchell has competed in distances ranging from the 400 meters through the 5K. He holds personal bests of 51 seconds in the 400m, 1:59 in the 800m , 4:25 in the 1600m, 9:46 in the 3200m, 15:22 in the three mile and 15:42 in the 5K.
