Dario leads ‘Dogs at Cal Winter Invitational

Freshman finishes 3-0 in singles play on the weekend.
BERKELEY, Calif. – Fresno State wrapped up its first competition of the spring on Sunday, winning 21 matches in three days at that the Cal Winter Invitational. Freshman Alessia Dario finished perfect in singles play at 3-0 while sophomore Katerina Stloukalova was 3-1. Sophomore Ndindi Ndunda was the lone Bulldog to finish 3-0 in doubles competition while playing alongside three different partners.
Fresno State finished 7-1 in singles matches on Sunday as the team faced Cal Poly. All eight matches finished in straights and only one match saw a set go to a tiebreaker. The Bulldogs won just one of four doubles matches on the final day as they faced Cal. Nnduna and Juliane Triebe won the lone doubles match, defeating Cal's Audrey Mayer and Cal Poly's Abigail Bacharach, 7-5.
The 'Dogs will host their first home match of the season on Jan. 20 against Sacramento State. Doubles play will begin at 11 a.m. PT at Spalding G. Wathen Tennis Center with singles matches to follow after the conclusion of doubles.
