'Dogs shutout Wolf Pack on the road, 1-0

RENO, Nev. – The Fresno State women's soccer team defeated Nevada 1-0, Sunday afternoon. Tori Nicolo scored the game-winning goal in the match for the Bulldogs.
Fresno State improves to 3-9-2 (2-3-1 MW) this season. Fresno State is currently tied for sixth place in the Mountain West standings. The top six teams make it to the MW Championships.
FIRST HALF
Nicolo, Megan Amick, Alyssa Nishikawa, Ele Avery, Danya Gutierrez, Maria Gomez, Robyn McCarthy, Emma Chivers, Danielle Pacheco and Kayla Calmes led the charge for the 'Dogs, with Nicole Theroux in the goal.
The first half was a defensive battle, neither team being able to gain the upper hand. After 45, minutes only three shots were taken. All three shots were taken by Fresno State. Both teams took three corner kicks.
SECOND HALF
Fresno State took the lead in the 79th minute. Nicolo tipped in a rebound in front of the goal.
Nevada retaliated with three consecutive shots, two were off goal but Theroux grabbed the save on the last attempt.
The 'Dogs' defense didn't allow the Wolf Pack to take a shot in the last five minutes, to secure the victory.

Fresno State will return home to host back-to-back home games against Wyoming on Friday, Oct. 12 at 7 p.m. PT and Colorado State on Sunday, Oct. 14 at 12 p.m. PT.
