Alyssa Nishikawa named to the 2018 Google Cloud Academic All-District Team

FRESNO, Calif. – The Fresno State women's soccer team landed a player on the 2018 Google Cloud Academic All-District Team in senior Alyssa Nishikawa, CoSIDA announced on Thursday. Nishikawa was a First Team selection for District 8.
The Google Cloud Academic All-District Team, selected by CoSIDA, recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. First-Team Academic All-District honorees advance to the Google Cloud Academic All-America ballot, All-America honorees will be announced in December.
The last Bulldog to earn this honor was Peyton Cline in 2015.
The Fresno, Calif. native has earned a 3.95 cumulative GPA at Fresno State while majoring in civil engineering. Nishikawa was the only Mountain West student-athlete in District 8 to receive this prestigious award.
Nishikawa, a 2018 team captain, is a three-time Mountain West-All Academic selection. This season, she started all 20 games for the Bulldogs and was second on the team in total minutes with 1,713. Nishikawa helped Fresno State advance to the 2018 MW Championship Tournament, marking the second consecutive season the Bulldogs have advanced to the postseason.
The four-year Bulldog midfielder finished her career after playing in 60 games, notching three assists and one goal.
After graduation, she plans to pursue a career in civil engineering.Â
