Fresno State announces change in soccer leadership

FRESNO, Calif. - Fresno State Athletics announced today that Brian Zwaschka will not return as head coach of the Bulldog soccer program. A national search for the next head coach will begin immediately.
Zwaschka was the program's longest tenured coach, having just completed his 17th season at the helm. As head coach, he compiled a 112-143-51 overall record. He led the Bulldogs to three Western Athletic Conference tournament appearances, including one championship in 2010, one WAC regular season runner-up finish, one WAC tournament runner-up finish, two MW regular season runner-up finishes, eight MW tournament appearances and one NCAA tournament appearance. Zwaschka was also the 2013 Mountain West Coach of the Year.
Fresno State will begin an immediate and comprehensive search for a new head coach to lead the program into the 2026 season and into the Bulldogs' new era in the Pac-12. Sean Steele will serve as acting head coach during the search process.
