SANTA CLARA, Calif. - The Fresno State women's soccer team dropped their road match with Santa Clara on Sunday, falling to the Broncos by a final score of 4-0 at Stevens Stadium.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Broncos dominated possession early, and their efforts were rewarded in the fifth minute as they opened the scoring after a Bronco defender sent a shot into the top corner of the net past goalie Jessie Reiss.

Fresno State looked to find the equalizer, generating a pair of shots in the 18th minute from Tatiana Saunders and Abigail Herren that were saved by the Broncos goalkeeper.

The Bulldogs threatened to bring the game level within the final stages of the half, but both scoring chances by Saunders and Hayden Crotty-Romero missed the target as Santa Clara held a 1-0 at the half.

Santa Clara doubled their lead in the 59th minute with a rising shot from a Bronco forward following a stretch pass from midfield that gave the Broncos a 2-0 advantage.

With less than 10 minutes remaining, the Broncos extended their lead with two goals in a two-minute span, both coming from inside the 18-yard box, as the Bulldogs fell 4-0 to Santa Clara on Sunday afternoon.
