Bulldog Bones

Fresno State is coming off of its second hard-fought defeat to a Pac-12 opponent this season, falling 89-80 at UCLA after pulling within three within the final minutes.
The Bulldogs have averaged a +13.5 scoring margin in their four wins this season.
Shooting 54.7 percent from the field while averaging 13.3 points per game and leading the team in rebounding (6.0 rbg), Maddi Utti is also ranked No. 55 in the country and No. 2 in the conference in free-throw percentage
On the heels of three straight 20-point games, Candice White leads the MW in scoring at 18.1 points per game.
The 'Dogs rank 14th in the NCAA and first in the conference in free-throw percentage, knocking them down at a clip of 78.8 percent. Hitting 22-of-24 on the season, Utti's 91.7 percent sits 18th nationally and second in the league.
Fresno State ranks No. 26 in the NCAA in steals per game, averaging 12.0 per game through seven games. The 'Dogs also sit at No. 24 in the country in the turnover margin at +6.14.

Scouting Santa Clara

Santa Clara is 5-3 on the year after starting 5-1, the program's best start since 2011-12.
The Broncos enter Wednesday's game having lost their last two contests, an 82-31 defeat at No. 8 Oregon State and a home loss to CSUN, 53-38.
SCU is averaging 58.8 points per game but have been held below 50 points in all three of their losses.
The Broncos rank No. 1 in the West Coast Conference with 36 blocked shots, averaging 4.5 per game.
Lauren Yearwood is the team's primary shot blocker, ranking No. 7 in the NCAA with 26, and No. 5 in blocked shots per game at 3.0
Tia Hay is pacing Santa Clara in scoring at 12.8 points per game, the team's only playing averaging double figures on the year.
Despite shooting below 40 percent, the Broncos are winning games with their defense, forcing an average of 16.4 turnovers per game.

History with Santa Clara

Fresno State holds a 24-15 edge over Santa Clara in the all-time series.
The two sides last met in the first round of the 2016 WNIT with the Bulldogs topping the Broncos 59-53 in Fresno.

Scouting Stanislaus State

Stanislaus State sits at 1-6 on the season.
The Warriors will enter Friday's contest playing their fourth straight on the road.
The lone win for the Warriors came at home against Sonoma State (59-49) on Nov. 29.
Stanislaus has been outscored by 15.2 points per game.
The Warriors have played the last three games without top scorer Lizzy Alexander (16.0 ppg).
Leading the team recently has been Kyanna Davis who is averaging 14.4 points per game to go with a team-high 5.4 rebounds per contest.
Running the floor is Angelica Baylon who is dishing out 4.4 assists per game and scoring a 9.4 points per game.

History with Stanislaus State

Fresno State is 6-1 all-time versus Stanislaus State.
The two sides have played just twice since the 1970's.
The Bulldogs have won the most recent matchups (2014, 2015) by an average of 26 points on their home court.

Distributing the offense
Fresno State has seen three players score double figures in each game this season, including two games with four in double digits.

The Bulldogs are 1-1 when four players reach double figures, dropping their last game out against UCLA as two 'Dogs were in the scored at least 20 points.
Four Bulldogs are averaging doubles figures: Candice White (18.1), Maddi Utti (13.3), Kristina Cavey (10.9) and Aly Gamez (10.1). Bree Delaney is just outside the double-digit mark at 8.4.

Taking the easy ones
The 'Dogs are ranked No. 14 in the country and lead the conference in free-throw percentage, knocking down 78-of-99 to go 78.8 percent on the season. This comes a year after setting the program's single-season record at 75.2 percent (369-491).

Fresno State's best percentage of the season came at USC when the team shot 10-of-10 from the line in a one-point defeat.
Three Bulldogs to have attempted at least 12 free throws are shooting above 85 percent. Maddi Utti (22-of-24) and Kristina Cavey (11-of-12) are converting at a team-high 91.7 percent clip.

Pick your pocket
A key to Fresno State's success thus far has been through active hands on defense. The Bulldogs are forcing the most turnovers in the Mountain West at 21.5 per game.

Maddi Utti is ranked second in the league, averaging 2.7 steals per game.
The 'Dogs have five players with 10+ steals seven six games - Candice White, Maddi Utti, Kristina Cavey, Aly Gamez and Bree Delaney.

New year, same scorer
Candice White has scored 127 points through seven games this season, averaging a team-high 18.1 points per game to lead the Mountain West.

She currently sits tied at No. 15 on the all-time scoring list with Chantella Perera. White has made her mark on the list in essentially two-plus seasons after playing only 69 minutes during her freshman year.
White also leads the squad with four 20+ point games, picking up a season-high 25 against Cal Poly in the home opener. She has scored 22 (UCLA) and 21 (USC) against the Bulldogs' two Power-5 opponents on the road.
