Fresno State drops 5-2 result to Gonzaga

Ndunda, Wilson pick up wins in singles play.
NORTHRIDGE, Calif. – The Fresno State women's tennis team dropped their first of two matches this weekend, falling 5-2 to Gonzaga in a neutral site match that was contested in Northridge, California.

Gonzaga grabbed the upper hand in doubles play as No. 52 Sophie Whittle and Graciela Rosas defeated No. 27 Georgia Lawson and Emma Wilson, 6-0. GU finished off the opening point with a 6-3 win on Court 2.

With straight-set wins in singles play from Emma Wilson (6-3, 6-4) at No. 2 and Ndindi Ndunda (6-4, 7-6) at No. 4, the Bulldogs trailed 3-2 with two matches heading into a third set. Lawson and Triebe though would drop their final sets, 6-1 and 6-4 respectively.

Fresno State will head south to San Diego tomorrow to face Dartmouth at 3 p.m.
