Triebe picks up sixth win of dual season.

SALT LAKE CITY – In their first of two matches in state of Utah this weekend, Fresno State was defeated 6-1 by the Utes on Friday afternoon at George S. Eccles Tennis Center.

For the fourth time in the last five matches, Fresno State fell behind 1-0 after dropping the doubles point, suffering a 6-3 loss at No. 2 which was followed by a tight 7-5 defeat on Court 3. Utah used the momentum from doubles as the dual moved into singles play. The Utes rattled off three consecutive straight-set wins to clinch the match at 4-0. Electing to play the out the remaining matches, Fresno State earned its lone win at the No. 4 spot from Juliane Triebe. After dropping the opening set, 6-2, the sophomore forced a third-set, winning 10-8 in the 10-point pro set tiebreaker.

The Bulldogs will head to Provo tomorrow face BYU at 11 a.m. PT.
