'Dogs defeat Terriers on the road, 23-3
SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Fresno State women's lacrosse team opened up its trip to the east coast with a 23-3 win over Wofford on Saturday afternoon. 12 Bulldogs found the back of the net for a season-high 23 goals.

Fresno State is now 6-4 on the season with a 4-1 road mark.

Megan Walaitis and Nicole Ortlieb lead the way for Fresno State with four goals apiece. Sarah Bloise completed a hat trick with three goals. Kayla Galet, Lauren Gonzales and Lauren Kiszely each scored a pair of goals for the Bulldogs. Marina Mayo, Tiffiny Wallace, Ryleigh Bone, Mackenzie Wallevand, Dawson Chalifoux and Kennedy Mulvaney each added one goal to round out scoring for Fresno State.

Seven of the Bulldog goals were scored on free position shots.

FIRST HALF
Galet, Wallace, Bone, Bloise, Wallevand, Mulvaney, Hannah Krats, Olivia Mannon, Alex Romanowski and Abigail Bergevin charted the start for Fresno State, with Laurel Maunder in the box.

Fresno State was on the board first with a goal from Galet with 26:36 on the clock.
Â
Wofford scored its only goal of the half with 24:38 left to go.
Â
Bloise ignited the offense on a goal that put the Bulldogs up 2-1. The Bulldogs went on to score 13 more goals in the half while keeping the Terriers scoreless for nearly 25 minutes of play.

Fresno State owned a 15-1 advantage at the half.

SECOND HALF
Natalie Chaffin took over at goalkeeper in the second half.

Ortlieb opened up scoring in the second half with three consecutive goals for the Bulldogs. Walaitis scored with 20:10 to go in the game and Ortlieb followed with her fourth goal of the game two minutes later to put the Bulldogs ahead 21-1.

Wofford ended Fresno State's 20-0 run with a goal on a free position shot with 14:19 left in the game.

Fresno State scored two more before Wofford scored its final goal of the game with 5:11 to go.

The Bulldogs added eight goals in the second half to finish with a 23-3 victory.

Fresno State owned the advantage in shots (41-13), ground balls (22-12), saves (9-8) and caused turnovers (10-7).

Bulldogs were evenly matched in draw controls (14-14) with Olivia Mannon leading the way for the 'Dogs, grabbing five. Mannon also picked up a team-best three ground balls.

Maunder recorded four saves in the first half and Chaffin picked up five in the second.
