'Dogs close nonconference slate with EWU on Wednesday evening

Wednesday evening's match will be Fresno State's final nonconference match of the season as the Bulldogs host Eastern Washington. The 'Dogs have faced EWU just once in their history, a 6-1 win in Cheney, Washington on Feb. 26, 2017.

Bulldogs at a glance:
Fresno State is 5-11 on the year after splitting a pair of matches last week in Utah. The Bulldogs have split each of the last two weekends after facing four consecutive ranked opponents. Emma Wilson has a team-high eight singles wins during the spring (8-6), with seven of those wins coming at the No. 1 spot. Juliane Triebe is second on the team with seven wins (7-7). Wilson and Georgia Lawson have a team-best six wins in doubles play during the dual season and are ranked No. 36 in the ITA rankings.
Looking at Eastern Washington:
The Eagles are 6-7 overall after dropping a neutral site match to Cal Poly (5-2) on Monday, a team that the Bulldogs beat 6-1 in February. EWU is 3-2 in its last five matches. Zoey Nelson has a team-best record of 8-3 in dual play, holding a 7-3 record at the No. 3 spot and 1-0 record at No. 2.
Next Up:
Fresno State will begin conference play on the road next week, traveling to Reno, Nevada on April 6 to face the Wolf Pack at 11 a.m. PT. It will be the first of two road trips to open conference play for the Bulldogs.
