'Dogs and Rebels square-off for regular-season title

Fresno State or UNLV have been the top seed in each of the last four MW tournaments.

Saturday's match will mark the final regular season dual for the Bulldogs as they head to the Mountain West Championships next week. The regular-season title is on the line as UNLV and Fresno State are each undefeated in conference play and will likely be the top two seeds at next week's tournament which is seeded based on ITA rankings. The Rebels are the only Mountain West team to defeat the Bulldogs during the regular season during the last four years. Fresno State has claimed three of the last four regular-season titles outright, while splitting the 2017 title with UNLV as each had one loss.

Bulldogs at a glance:
Fresno State is 9-11 on the year after winning its fifth straight match on Tuesday against San Diego State. The win was the Bulldogs' third conference win (3-0) in a row.  The 'Dogs have won four of their last five matches by one point.

Emma Wilson and Juliane Triebe lead the team with 24 singles wins on the year and have identical 24-12 overall records. Each also own a 11-7 record in dual play. Triebe has won her last eight singles matches. Wilson is also part of the Bulldogs' No. 1 doubles team as her and Georgia Lawson are No. 43 in the latest ITA rankings (April 10). The two have compiled a 12-9 record overall with two wins coming against nationally-ranked teams.
Looking at the Rebels:
UNLV enters Saturday's match with a conference best 13-5 record overall and is on a four-match winning streak. The Rebels are 6-1 since mid-March. Aiwen Zhu is the top-ranked singles player in the MW at No. 62. The junior is 23-8 overall but is 14-2 during the dual season at the No. 1 position for the Rebels. Zhu is also part of the team's No. 1 doubles pair alongside En-Pei Huang. The two are 21-7 on the year and 11-4 during dual competition.
