With the loss Fresno State (31-22, 14-9 MW) was eliminated from contention for the Mountain West title and will finish the season in third place in the conference. The regular season finale on Saturday will also be the rubber game of the series as Utah State (24-25, 11-12 MW) earned the 10-9 win after the 'Dogs beat the Wolf Pack by the same score on Thursday.
Chase LeeHong, Savannah McHellon, Schuylar Broussard, and Katie Castellon all homered for the Bulldogs, with Broussard going deep for the second consecutive game. LeeHong, McHellon, and Rachel Minogue had multi-hit games as Minogue is 5-for-7 with a home run and two doubles and has driven in six runs in the first two games of the series.
How it Happened
LeeHong got the scoring started in the top of the second as she mashed a solo home run to left center (watch). Danielle East set down the first five Boise State hitters with four strikeouts but with two away in the bottom of the second Nevada got a walk, a single, an RBI double from Sierra Mello, and a 2-run single from Lauren Gutierrez to take a 3-1 lead.
After a scoreless third inning the 'Dogs tied the game quickly in the fourth as McHellon (watch) and Broussard (watch) hit back-to-back home runs. Later in the inning LeeHong and Katie Castellon each drew walks and Minogue delivered a two-run double to center to put the 'Dogs ahead 5-3 (watch).
Nevada scored again with two away in the fourth inning as Gutierrez delivered another RBI single. The Wolf Pack tied the game leading off the bottom of the fifth as a high pop fly from Aaliyah Gibson cleared the wall in right center.
Fresno State put together its second four-run inning in the sixth, scoring all four runs with two away. With a runner on second and two away Castellon, on a 3-2 pitch, lined her 8th home run of the season over the wall in center field (watch). Minogue followed with a single and Emily Brodner was hit by a pitch before Vanessa Hernandez had an RBI single to right (watch). McHellon followed with an RBI single of her own to push the lead to 9-5.
In the bottom of the seventh the Wolf Pack scored two runs but had just a runner on third with two away still trailing by a 9-7 margin. A Bulldog fielding error allowed one run to score and extended the inning, and the Wolf Pack followed with a single and a walk to load the bases before Kwynn Warner hit a 2-2 pitch to left center to bring in the tying and winning runs.

- LeeHong hit her first home run since February 2017 and became the ninth Bulldog to hit a home run this season.
- Brodner was hit by a pitch for the ninth time this season and it was the 70th time the 'Dogs have been hit this year.
- With eight strikeouts on Friday, East topped 150 strikeouts for the season and has 155 strikeouts in 163.1 innings pitched.
- Castellon left the game in the sixth inning due to injury.
