• Under first-year head coach Kristie Fox UNLV was picked eighth in the preseason MW poll after going 25-27 (8-16 MW) last season. The team had an 18-7 record in pre-conference games this year but for the season UNLV has played the second easiest schedule among MW teams in terms of opponent winning percentage.
• Overall this season the Rebels lead the MW with a 2.95 ERA and with a .973 fielding percentage, but in MW games the team is just fourth in ERA (3.36) with a .284 opposing batting average. UNLV has hit just .257 in MW games, averaging only 3.8 runs per game in MW play.Â

• Boise State plays at Colorado State this weekend while San Jose State is at Utah State. The Spartans will play their final regular season game at Nevada next Tuesday (May 8) to make up a game that was rained out earlier this season.
