Bulldogs earn All-Academic honors
FRESNO, Calif. - Seven members of the Fresno State water polo team earned Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches (ACWPC) All-Academic honors as announced by the organization on Friday.
The squad was also recognized with an All-Academic team award for maintaining a team GPA of 3.00 in its inaugural season.
Soon-to-be sophomores Maci Layne and Emily Nicholson, junior Madelynn Garcia and senior Mackenzie Richards were ranked as Outstanding All-Academic for holding a GPA of 3.71-4.00.
Layne continues her academic excellence as she was one of two bulldog water polo freshmen in 2018 to receive the prestigious academic honor of being a member of the Smittcamp Family Honors College, one of the country's leading honor's colleges.
2018 graduates Rebekah Groteguth and Jillian Wulf earned Superior All-Academic titles as they carried a 3.41-3.70 GPA.
Finally, sophomore to be, Claire Schade, grabbed Excellent All-Academic honors for maintaining a GPA of 3.20-3.40.
The Bulldogs look to extend their academic success into the 2019 season.
