Leather paces 'Dogs in Nevada

Sophomore finishes third in women's 5K.
HENDERSON, Nev. – The Fresno State cross country teams each placed third on Saturday at the UNLV Cross Country Invitational held at Lake Las Vegas Sports Club. Ellie Leather nabbed the Bulldogs' top finish of the day, placing third in the women's 5K.

The Bulldog women finished with 62 points behind top-10 results from Leather and freshman Sydney Fox who placed ninth in her first collegiate race. The two each finished with times under 20 minutes with Leather at 19:17.9 and Fox at 19:52.0.

Freshman Jaden Uphoff led the men for the second meet in a row as he finished 10th in his first 8K at 27:28.9. Sophomore Matthew Founds finished right behind him in 11th, less than a second behind his teammate. The men finished with 84 points.

Fresno State will return to action next weekend in Sacramento, California at the Sac State Capital Cross Challenge on Sept. 29.
