Hubbard adds eight student-athletes in early signing period
FRESNO, Calif - Fresno State equestrian head coach Eric Hubbard announced the addition of eight student-athletes to the 2019-20 roster on Thursday.

The signing class brings four Western and four Hunt Seat riders to the program. The class is full of decorated athletes who have each excelled in their riding styles in nationwide showings and competitions.

"We are very excited for this talented group of young women to join our team," added Hubbard. "They bring so many different talents to an already talented group of individuals. We are looking forward to great things from them."

Anstead: "Everyone's college search experience is different and mine was certainly an interesting one. Until Coach Caitlin approached me about Fresno State, I really had no idea where I was going to end up. When I came to visit Fresno I loved the feeling of the campus and the chemistry of the team. Everyone seemed so genuinely devoted to the team and the well being of their teammates. I'm so excited to be a part of this close-knit team and to get to spend the next four years of my life being a Fresno State Bulldog!"

Sara Tuck - Carmel, Calif. (Hunter Seat)
       - Attended the Interscholastic Equestrian Association (IEA) National Finals in 2015 (in Wellington, Florida) & 2016 (in Lexington, Kentucky)
       - At 2016 IEA National Finals, won 2nd over fences and 6th on the flat
       - Won the Pam Poulsen 1-2-3 Equitation Special in 2018 at the Alamden Farms Horse Show in Brookside, CA
       - Competed in most of the Norcal 3ft Medal Finals
       - Qualified for the IEA National Sportsmanship Award by being awarded the IEA Sportsmanship award for 5 years in a row (2015-2019)
       - Won Rider of The Year for Fox N Horn Horse Show Series in 2017
       - Placed 4th out of 32 in the 2018 Almaden Medal Finals
       - Placed 6th out of 32 in the 2018 Almaden Farms 3 Phase Equitation Special
       - Team Captain of IEA Team for 5 years

Tuck: "I've been riding since I was six years old, and Fresno State has given me the opportunity to continue the sport I have been so dedicated to. Having the ability to not only ride on the team, but also be hands-on with the horses will help me excel as a rider. I also love the idea of being a part of a team that represents the school I attend. After touring Fresno and equestrian program, I knew Fresno State would be a perfect fit for me, and I chose Fresno State because it is a place that already feels very much like home. I believe this school will help me grow not only as a horsewoman but also as a student by being able to study Agricultural Business which I am very interested in. Plus, I get to stay in the California sun and still be close to home."
